A ruin with a view at the Coal Mines Historic Site

It has been getting busy at the Coal Mines with over 1000 visitors logged during the last couple of weeks. Pictured is one of the building ruins on site which as you can see, is afforded a pretty spectacular aspect!

Not a lot is known about this cottage but it probably dates from 1842-1845 and is likely to have housed the storekeeper or wharfinger – a chap that looks after a wharf surprisingly!
